Aleksandar ĐORĐEVIĆ - Getting
accustomed to basketball
Many pearls of Yugo-basket have made if not the first
then very important steps in basketball camps.
Aleksandar Đorđević rules Europe greatly and with a lot
of reason he is constantly the target of the richest
clubs. The main star of the Apenine peninsula at one
time, and the Pirinei one nowadays, has also passed this
kind of training.
"Basketball camps are extremely important in
development of each player. The young get new
acquaintances first, they get used to life in a group,
that is of great importance. They learn to fulfill their
duties because professional sportists have no right to
have a bohemian approach to work. Experienced experts
run the work and they put an accent to the individual
technics of playing. The very this component has a
decisive importance for each basketball player. My stay
in the camp helped me a lot and remember those days with
pleasure. I'm glad that similar activities are still
being organized with great success and with a lot of
children's interest" - that's what Aleksandar Đorđević
declared at the 20th anniversary of the camp.
Haris BRKIĆ - My first experience
Haris Brkić, the first team player of Budućnost (Podgorica)
has also passed trainings of Zlatibor basketball camp.
"It was my first real basketball experience and first
sports travel. I don't want to deny that I was
enthusiastic about what I saw and experienced. Whole
Yugoslavija gathered, we were training, making friends.
One more memory of potential national team player is
worth our attention:
"We were training in groups depending on age. In the
older group, I remember, was Zeljko Topalović, now first
team player of Red Star. I also remember Saša Danilović
training on Zlatibor
that first year... I hope that this year at least one
real basketball player will be presented to Yugoslavija
by the camp.
Zoran SRETENOVIĆ
I have been connected with the camp on
Zlatibor since
those days when I was playing basketball. In the
beginning I was coming as a demonstrator, and later as a
couch as well.
As a player, I was trying to show to the children
everything that I had learned from the teachers who
preceded me. At the same time, I was using my sojourn
here to get to the secrets of the couch’s profession
throught the coversations with professor Aleksandar
Nikolich, becouse I knew that couching would be my
profession when I finish my playing career.
All of my expiriences from Zlatibor are
unforgettable. I realized thar the children, working by
the program of the legendary professor, were progressing
faster than the other.
On the other hand, being with Aca Nikolich opened me
new views for my present vocation. Becouse all of that,
I’ve became emotionally envolved with the camp on
Zlatibor that has become an unavoidable part of my
career.
Željko LUKAJIĆ
I consider Zlatibor camp to be some kind of
Basketball Academy.
Many begginers have showed here in this camp that
they would become asses one day perhaps. Some of them
were Aleksandar Djordjevich and Predrag Danilovich.
Many couches too, have made their first step to
Europian and world hights on Zlatibor. One of them was
Bozhidar Maljkovich who was one of the founders of the
camp, or Zheljko Obradovich who showed indications right
here 20 years ago that he would become what he is today.
At last, I spent hours and days in Zlatibor camp with
the „professor”. I can not forget long conversations and
his frankness to the younger couches. He was teaching us
at any time and about everything, and we will be
greatfull to him for that. Professor’s basketball
philosophy was accepted by everyone in this area,
becouse it was unique.
I am very lucky becouse I can spend a few days every
summer on Zlatibor.
I can meet here some of my old friends to whom
basketball means life, and I can also be happy for every
little boy or girl in who maybe a future Kichanovich is
hidden. |
