Bratislav ĐORĐEVIĆ

He was one of the visionaries of Yugoslave basketball. When the camp started with work, his ideas were of priceless value.

Not untill this distance we can see how far Bata was looking. No doubt, he is the most responsible man for the appearance of lots of other camps, which started to grow like mushrooms. He traveled across Serbia with some like-minded persons looking for new chalenges. He animated numerous circles, becouse he lived with basketball 24hours a day.

He hasn’t changed even today when he doesn’t owe anything to basketball. But he can’t live without basketball. Maybe, therefor basketball owes him a lot. Zlatibor camp owes him for sure!

Božidar MALJKOVIĆ

All the past thirty years Zlatibor camp belongs to him too. He was among the creators of this institution which has become world known as time passes.

Even when he was too busy, he was visiting Zlatibor regularly. He didn’t forget the days when he had started coaching, and how much the experience of the olders had meant to him.

Nowadays, he is giving back to the younger colleagues with the same measure. And he has a lot to say to them, because plenty of titles are behind and in front of him. Some of the most significant are: four titles of European champion, which he won playing in Jugoplastika (two),in Limoza and Panatinaikos.


Miki PAVIĆEVIĆ

While thousands of children and couches were passing through the famous school of basketball on Zlatibor, he is the only one who stays.

Mihajlo Miki PAVICEVIC, director of the camp, thanks to whose enthusiasm the camp has survived in the most difficult conditions.

Along with him Sasa Djordjevic, Predrag Danilović, Dejan Bodiroga,and Igor Rakocevic were growing. He welcomed and saw off Bata Djordjevic, Bozidar Maljkovic, Zeljko Obradovic. Unique – everyone in his own way, they were leaving, but they were also coming back to Zlatibor. Miki Pavicevic was always waiting for them.

So, it is not strange why professor Aleksandar Nikolic once said:

„In this camp everything functions great. I have to say that it is so great deal thanks to Miki. This camp could be called Miki Pavicevic’s camp, becouse he has dedicated the whole himself to these children. He does the greatest part of job, and, perhaps, that’s why everything functions so well.”
 

TEACHERS - COACHES

Professor Aleksandar NIKOLIĆ

The founder of Yugoslav, European and world basketball, who has been formally a member of Hall of fame in Springfield since the second of October 1998.

World amateur basketball didn’t have a better expert in its entire history. The first medal which Yugoslavia won at some great competition, was his work. That was in 1961 in Belgrade, when „The blue” took the second place after at that time untouchable Soviet Union. Only two years later, professor achived the same accomplishment at the World Championship in Rio.

A decade and a half later, he spent two more years with representation.At European Championship in1977.Yugoslavia won a gold medal, so as one year later at the World Championship.

In the meantime, he was doing miracles across Italy. In the season of 1965/66. he took over Petrarka when it was at the bottom of the list. At the end of Championship it was the third, and that’s why professor Nikolic was declared the coach of the year.

During the period 1969, – 1973. he won three Champion titles in Italy with Ignis from Varese, as well as three Europian titles, three Cups of Italy and two Intercontinental Cups ( unofficial Club Championship of the world ).

Under his leadersheep ( 1972./73. ) Ignis was declared the greatest team in the history of Italian and European basketball.

Working under the advices of professor Nikolic, Bozidar Maljkovic and Zeljko Obradovic have grown to coaches of greatest European format. Both of them won champion titles of „The old Continent” in the first year of work under the supervision of the professor with their clubs Yugoplastika and Partizan.

This legendary professor has finished his coach opus in Zlatibor’s camp. Because of that, and to pay respect to all what he did for our and world basketball, Zlatibor camp is carrying the name of professor Aleksandar Nikolic.

Ratko JOKSIĆ

UNOFFICIALLY: In many of his collegues’ opinion he is one of the best coaches training the young people in Europe.

OFFICIALLY: Player and coach.

PLAYER: KK "ŽELEZNIČAR" Čačak
             KK "BORAC" Čačak

COACH: He started to work as a coach in the clubs where he used to play before. Working as a couch he passed through all the selections: pioniers, juniors, cadets, seniors of 1st league, all in Zeleznicar and Borac from Cacak. He had for the mentor professor Aleksandar Nikolic for two years, while he was in Borac, and he was one of the first coaches who worked with Aca. Later he worked in: BC Dragacevo, BC Guca, BC Sloga – Kraljevo, BC Kolubara – Lazarevac, BC Sibenik, BC Prvi Partizan – Uzice...

At that time, he was the couch of Yugoslav Team– of young people up to 22 years, and he worked as a selector for three years.

He was doing program JUNIOR in Bulgaria for nine years, where he founded a school of 1800 players of all selections, and 40 couches. After three years of work, he managed to create a selection from his own school, and BC „Buba”has even today been playing in the first Bulgarian league, and in the first B league, as well as women’s club which also exists and has been playing today.

During those nine years he was an adviser to BC CSK – Sofia, two years in BC Levski – Sofija, and a selector of Bulgarian Junior representation for two years.

At the moment, he works in Moscow as a research collaborate in CSK with a junior team and young people. The OFFICIAL attitude of ABC „PROFESSOR ALEKSANDAR NIKOLIC” is that the most expirienced coaches should work with young people,experts who had passed all stages from the beginning to work with representation.Such workers should return then to work with children,because only they know how to create a player.

Borivoje CENIĆ

higher basketball coach

UNOFFICIALLY: They are right when they say that he hasn’t been doing anything except basketball in his entirel life, and it is the same today! He confirmed too, that after all, the real coaches are returning to the kids.He works with the kids in all the camps that have been organized, and most of the camps are working by his own program.

He remained loyal to Zlatibor camp and has been participating in its work for 25 years.

OFFICIALLY: He is recipient of a work medal with silver wreath, he is the winner of “ Octobar reward of Belgrade city”, and a winner of Reward for life deed UKTS.

Works Nowadays he is working as an instructor at the High basketball school and at the courses for the coaches,he is an expert collaborator in Basketball Association of SCG.

During his 54-year coaching he has been working with the following clubs:

-"APOLON" Patras - (Grcka), I federal league (8. place)
- "KAZMA" (Kuwait) - I federal league - 4x II place, winner of the Junior Cup and cadets I place.

He was a selector of the women’s representation and to all younger categories of YUBA.

- women’s senior representation II place at the European Championship, IV place at the World Champiohship
- juniors representation (women) II place at the European Championship and 2x III place at the European Championship

He achived significant results in education and making coaches who are working all over the world now.


Borislav Džaković

UNOFFICIALLY: One of the students of the late professor, who, we may say, was working with him longest.

OFFICIALLY: He has been in the coach business for more than thirty years, and through this period, he formed many players and worked in the following clubs:
