In the summer of 2006. Amateur basketball camp PROFESSOR
ALEKSANDAR NIKOLIC on Zlatibor will welcome the children
of the world for the 31st time.
For the last 30 years more than 30.ooo children and
coaches have left their trail on Zlatibor basketball
grounds,so there is no wonder we have been compared with
wine: they say :the older the better you are.
It’s quite understandable becaose from the beginning,
and it all began in 1976, our club’s history was written
by Bratislav Djordjevic, Bozidar Maljkovic, Borivoje
Cenic, Svetislav Pesic, Zeljko Obradovic and many
others.
Finally, professor Aleksandar Nikolic ended his couch
opus here, and we have been carrying his name ever
after.
Sasa Djordjevic, Predrag Danilovic, Dejen Bodiroga, Sasa
Obradovic, Zeljko Rebraca, Nikola Loncar, Miroslav
Radosevic, Igor Rakocevic have left an indelible trail,
and in the near future we will add some new names to
this list, becouse our camp is a workshop which never
stops.
When, thirty years ago, basketball entuziasts from
Belgrade, Uzice and Cacak got an idea about opening a
basketball camp on Zlatibor, onlya few people belived
that we would have been lasting so long.
Now, after the three decades of surviving under most
difficult conditions, the whole world is greatfull to
the vizionars of those days, to people who came to an
original idea, which has later been realized to become
reality through the work of many people.
Zlatibor camp has „delivered” plenty of other basketball
camps, and therefor maybe we’ve become the most „
basketball” basketball country in the world. Changing
radicaly trditional practis of selection, Zlatibor camp
gives opportunity to everyone to go in for sports.
Nobody is eliminated, and therefor we have grown into a
basketball movement.
Basketball camp on Zlatibor represents a school of
association, a joint living of youth. It’s a completely
new experience because it is filled with learning, game,
competition, entertainment,and recreation. You learn
basketball on Zlatibor in some other way, not as in some
other basketball schools and clubs.
On Zlatibor you play to learn, and in the clubs you
learn to play to play.
